Our History
Born from Necessity, Driven by PurposeEBC was founded during the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak from 2020 to 2022 by a dedicated group of Cambodians who saw the urgent need for accessible education. With schools closed and many students unable to continue their studies, we stepped in to bridge the gap.
Our efforts have been focused on ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has access to quality education. What started as an emergency response has evolved into a comprehensive platform for educational transformation.
Establishment2000
EBC was founded through collaboration between Cambodia’s MPTC and Korea’s MSIT to promote educational broadcasting and support national education development.
Pilot and Collaboration2023
EBC launched its first Digital Learning Pilot Program and partnered with the ECCC to produce educational content, advancing digital education and civic learning.
Nationwide Digital Integration2025
EBC partnered with universities, NGOs, and education institutions to roll out digital learning in 31 schools, advancing Cambodia’s transition toward a fully digital education ecosystem.
Covid-19 Pandemic Response2020
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, EBC was restructured under a four-ministry steering committee to drive digital learning in line with the Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework (2021–2035).
Expansion and Partnerships2024
EBC expanded its reach through national broadcasting, NGO collaborations, and telecom partnerships to provide free access to digital education across Cambodia.
