Don’t make things worse during new year

The motorcycle speed you use to race past others for a moment of thrill is nothing compared to the speed of your parents' tears as they roll down their cheeks seeing you lying in a pool of blood or in a hospital bed. Do not let the Khmer New Year, a time meant for joyful family gatherings, become a day where your parents must sit by at hospital bed watching over you in despair. For Khmer New Year, please join together in playing traditional games, the heritage of our ancestors: Chaol Chhoung, Bos Angkunh, Tug of War (Teanh Prot), and Leak Kanseng. Let us dance to our traditional rhythms: Ram Vong, Ram Kbach, and Saravan. May the New Year Angel bestow blessings upon the Cambodian people throughout the nation. If we, as Cambodians, do not promote our own heritage, which other nation do we expect to preserve it for us?
